PhD positions available?

  By: Greko on Dec. 26, 2016, 11:20 a.m.

Hello everyone,

As the topic of the post mentions I am looking for a Phd position on cryptography. First of all I must mention that I acquired most of my knowledge about cryptography by this contest. And that means a lot of studying by myself. So as this contest helped me to learn so much, I believe it will help me to do my next academic step. So let me introduce myself. At the moment (26/12/2016) I am in the top ten of the overall hall of fame of this contest and whoever is a member of the contest can see which are the challenges I have solved so far. Those are the information concerning this contest.

Apart from that let me give you some information about my academic steps. One and a half year ago I took my Bachelor on mathematics with grade: Excellent. The topic of my bachelor thesis was "Elliptic Curves and the Discrete Logarithm Problem". At the moment I am doing my master on pure mathematics and my master thesis' topic is "The Number Field Sieve". I expect to finish my master by June so a good starting date for me would be around September 2017. For more information I can send you my CV.

I would be interested in studing topics concerning the mathematical background of cryptography as well as studing cryptosystems and try to detect weaknesses and exploit them, like we do in this contest. Anybody that is aware of a vacancy please leave a reply or, if you are a professor looking for a Phd student, please feel free to send me an email at [HTML_REMOVED]emmanouhld@gmail.com[HTML_REMOVED] .

I would prefer a position in Europe but in either case if you have an interesting suggestion please let me know.

Best regards,
Emmanouil Doulgerakis (Greko)

Hello everyone,

I would like to thank everybody who spend a couple of minutes in order to read my previous post. Finally my search came to an end as I found a PhD position. So the purpose of this post is to cancel the previous one.

In case anybody taking part in this contest is or will be looking for a PhD position or generally a job in the field of cryptology you may find the following webpage very helpful.
