Hello munki, most probably you have one of the problems that had already been discussed here in the forum (did you read it all?), but in any case you can still send me a PM and I will try to help you.

Hi!

Sent a PM yesterday to 'be' but no response yet. Anybody around here to help me why my solution is incorrect?

Thanx a lot in advance.

Thanx a lot, Theofanidis!!

It's solved now :)

Anyway, I don't get why it has two different words encrypted with the same number, and why it has one shift number not converted left to right. Should this one be fixed? I don't know how to report it.

Well, thanx anyway!

Words are encrypted separately so there could be any number of same shifts. Why shouldn't?

…and why it has one shift number not converted left to right.

As far as I know all of them are. Can you please send me in PM the particular word with its shift that you think is wrong?

Floundering in Fortuna (California) (like Sleepless in Seatt

  By: glasshopper on Oct. 19, 2020, 6:53 a.m.

Could use a hint please?

Have written code (Yes, fretty…) that works fine for the
Example, but ONLY by knowing the
Word Lengths in advance!!

What am I missing?

EDIT:

Ohhh… I have seen the light; but, having trouble with just
One 3-letter word (or WRD?), which is between a
6-letter word ending with an 'r' and an
8-letter word starting with 's'… if
I can send a PM to
Someone?

I suspect you have trouble with the "word" at position 19, which is in fact two separate words.

Re: Challenge "Modified Caesar Cipher"

Indistinguishable characters "l" (small "L") and "I" (big "i") in the font used in PDF are another source of mistakes especially for users that solve the challenge manually.

is a good example which solved that problem elegantly.

About the challenge itself: It wasn't really hard, but I was also afraid that I'll mistype the answer correctly by adding a stray whitespace or whatever. By sheer accident (and maybe because I already developed an OCD and/or paranoia) and because I gave myself 15 extra minutes to check my proposal over again before submitting, I got it right the first time.

Anyway, thanks for the puzzle! I enjoyed it.

Alex.

Using a proportional font which clearly distinguishes between the digit 0 and the character O or i and l would make absolute sense to me. The font "Hack" [1] is a good example which solved that problem elegantly.

Thank you for your hint. We are going to take care of this.
If you find other challenges where this might be helpful, please feel free to write me a PM.

Hello everybody,

nice to hear that there are really people who made this with only one try. [HTML_REMOVED]
I wasn't as lucky, although after reading all this hints. I was really sure that I got it all, but it doesn't seem to be the case… [HTML_REMOVED]

May I also ask for somebody I can send a PM to?

Best regards

[HTML_REMOVED]
